Explore WWII stories in Central Europe

11 days (Czechia/Poland/Germany)

Discover the riveting story of American soldiers on European battlefields, a narrative that began in Normandy and reached its climax with the Liberation of Czechoslovakia in April and May 1945. Every year, during the annual Liberation Festival, the Czech people gather in gratitude to commemorate stories of the soldiers of General Patton’s 3rd Army, which played a pivotal role in liberating the western parts of the country. On the 2025 tour, you have the exclusive opportunity to partake in the jubilee 80th Anniversary celebrations, featuring massive ceremonies and a grand parade. In 2026, we will also visit ceremonies.

When people inquire about WWII in Central Europe, they often underestimate its significance. Contrary to popular belief, this region holds a pivotal place in WWII history. Did you know that the first battle of WWII took place in Czechoslovakia? The conflict between Germans and Czechs over our border regions, Sudetenland, marked the inception of the war. Despite the fact that the French and British sold us out to appease the Nazis in an attempt to maintain peace, it proved to be a grave mistake. WWII not only began but also concluded here in Czechoslovakia. The last battles of the war, including those after the official V-E Day, transpired here. The final actions involving American soldiers on European battlefields occurred in this very region. Hundreds of bunkers, constructed in the 1930s to thwart Nazi invasion, dot the countryside, which is also the birthplace of the famous Oskar Schindler. On the Polish side of the battlefield, you can explore Nazi secret underground factories and concentration camps.

This region is a treasure trove of historical significance, and I invite you to join me on this tour to immerse yourself in its rich narrative. Will you be a part of this extraordinary journey?
